Phase A: System Setup & Access§

Goal: Configure your digital workspace. By the end of this phase, you will have access to all communication, reporting, and execution tools.

Time Estimate: 30–45 Minutes


1. Identity & Communication (Telegram)§

We communicate via Telegram for speed, daily reporting, and urgent alerts.

  1. Install Telegram (Desktop & Mobile).
  2. Set Username: Ensure you have a @username set in Settings (so we can tag you).
  3. Join the Channel/Group: [Link to your Telegram Group] (Ask your Manager if you haven't received the link).
  4. Notification Settings:
    • Enable notifications for direct mentions.
    • Action: Send a short message in the group: "👋 [Your Name] is online and starting setup."

2. The Workspace (Google Suite)§

We use Google Docs for daily reporting/SOPs and Google Sheets for simple time tracking.

  1. Google Account: Use your existing professional Gmail or create a new one for this job.
  2. Access Master Folder: You should have received a link to the shared Google Drive folder. Open it and bookmark it in your browser.
  3. 🚨 CRITICAL STEP: Create your "Onboarding Log"
    • Go to Google Docs.
    • Create a new blank document.
    • Title it: Onboarding Log - [Your Name]
    • Share it: Click "Share" (top right) → Add your Manager's email → Set permissions to Editor.
    • Note: You will need this document immediately in Phase B to paste your quiz results and "Proof of Work".

3. The Brain (NotebookLM)§

We use Google NotebookLM as your personal "Oracle". It contains all our knowledge and rules.

  1. Access NotebookLM: Open the link provided by your Manager.
  2. Verify Source: Ensure you see the uploaded Source Documents (PDFs/Docs) on the left side.
  3. Test: Type a simple test question in the chat box (e.g., "What is the main goal of this system?") to ensure it answers based on the sources.

4. Security & Device Hygiene§

Your security is our security.

  1. Disk Encryption (Mandatory):
    • Windows: Search "BitLocker" → Turn On.
    • Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → FileVault → Turn On.
  2. Browser Separation:
    • Create a dedicated Chrome/Brave Profile named "Work".
    • Only log into work accounts (Gmail, Reddit) from this profile. Never mix with personal browsing.
    • Why? This prevents tracking cookies from linking your personal identity to our accounts.

✅ Phase A Checklist§

Do not proceed to Phase B until you have checked all boxes:

  • Sent "Hello" in Telegram.
  • Created Onboarding Log - [Name] and shared it with Manager (Editor access).
  • Verified NotebookLM access (it answers questions).
  • Confirmed BitLocker/FileVault is active on your device.
  • Created a dedicated "Work" Browser Profile.
